Rice Flour Porridge (Bubur Sumsum) Recipe - Procedure

In some areas in Indonesia, especially in West Java, there is a unique food made with rice flour. It is called Bubur Sumsum. It is usually served with brown sugar syrup.

Ingredients:

·         100 grams of rice flour
·         1/2 tsp salt
·         650 ml coconut milk from 1 coconut
·         3 pieces of Pandanus leaves, torn to pieces, make a slip knot

Brown Sugar Syrup Ingredients:

·         200 grams of brown sugar, chopped fine
·         2 pieces of Pandanus leaves, make a knot
·         100 ml of water

How to Make Rice Flour Porridge (Bubur Sumsum):

First, make the syrup of brown sugar: Mix all of the syrup ingredients, boil them until thickened. Then, set it aside.
Second, make the rice flour porridge: Mix the flour and salt with some coconut milk.
Then, turn on the stove with medium heat and put the mixture. Stir it.
Next, in other pan, boil the remaining coconut milk with Pandanus leaves.
After that, pour the boiled coconut milk into mixed rice flour, stir until thickened and cooked.
Finally, serve it with brown sugar syrup as much as you want.
